mucosa necrotica recurrens or Sutton’s disease. It initiates with a reddish nodule that due to necrobiosis
becomes an ulcer of larger size and depth than that of
a common aphthae.
They may appear as one or various lesions, are
very painful and heal very slowly.
The constant recurrence of lesions is despairing
to the patient, interrupts normal feeding and causes sialorrhea
and halitosis. It
is characterized by leaving behind fibrous scars.
