| Case
25.- Anterior open bite with maxillary dental protrusion and
inferior dental retrusion, in a 7-yr-old girl. Cl
I with a skeletal tendency to Cl III due to mandibular growth. Treatment consisted of 2 stages: the first with a
transpalatine bar to avoid lingual displacement and an inferior
lip bumper to neutralize labial suction, followed by a removable
appliance with a screw to expand the maxillary arch.
At the end of the mixed dentition, the second phase was
started, which consisted of Alexander-type fixed appliances for 14
months.
