#38
Congenitally missing deciduous and
permanent maxillary lateral incisors with ectopic eruption of the right
mandibular lateral incisor in a 7-yr-old girl, treated in two stages.
Dental alignment achieved 10 months after start of treatment.
Extraction of the temporary canines is indicated to accelerate the eruption of
the permanent canines and have them occupy the place of the lateral incisors.
Results obtained after a second phase of
treatment with extraction of the first mandibular premolars, closing of the
diastema and alignment of the dental arches with Alexander type fixed appliances
in the whole dentition. Anatomical reshaping of the upper canines is indicated
to conclude the case.
