Is
the most frequent variety of wart in the oral mucosa. It is a vegetative growth that presents as a lone or multiple
lesion due to dissemination of papovavirus.
The shape may vary considerably, it may have
a wide base or be pedunculated, of pink color, sometimes
with an opaline tint, of irregular surface, sometimes
presenting multiple extensions. When located on
the palate or the dorsum of the tongue, the vegetations
on the tongue start disappearing and it acquires
a smooth appearance due to compression.
The condyloma acuminatum or venereal wart
as it is also known, may appear simultaneously in
the genital area.
