| Condyloma
acuminatum in the anterior pillar due to oro-genital relations
It
is the variety of wart which is most common in the oral mucosa.
It presents as a vegetation occurring as a sole or multiple
lesion, due to dissemination of a papova group virus.
The shape may vary considerably, it can have an ample
sessile or pedunculated implantation base, rosy in color, sometimes
with an opaline tint, of irregular surface, and which may present
multiple prolongations.
When located on the palate or the dorsum of the tongue,
the vegetations on the surface start to disappear and acquire
a smooth aspect, due to compression.
Condyloma acuminatum or venereal wart, as it is also
known, may appear simultaneously in the genital area. (see
