Congenital epulis of the newborn

As the name describes, this growth is only observed in the newly born. It presents as a tissue growth which is the same color of the mucosa, pedunculated, of smooth surface and soft consistency, originatin in the alveolar crest or ridge. It has a marked predisposition for females, and is more common in the maxilla than the mandible.
