Acute
necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis
It
is characterized by a localized or generalized ulcerative process
with necrosis of the interdental papilla which causes loss of gingival
tissue, which is covered by a fibrinous exudate of greyish color.
The
patient presents with fever, bleeding of the gingival, and a “sui
generic” fetid halitosis.
