The lipoma is a very common neoplasia in the resto of the body, but it is very rare in the oral cavity.  It presents as a well defined, soft, sessile or pedunculated mass, with normal looking mucosa overlying it, on occasion translucent, giving off a yellowish color.  Growth is slow and the favourite location is the buccal mucosa.
