Melanotic
hyperpigmentations
| Melanitic
hyperpigmentations on the gingiva, palate and tongue
|
These
lesions are characterized by light brown colored spots which become
darker and start spreading through the palate, gingivae, buccal mucosa
and tongue, in HIV infected patients.
Some
authors have linked it to the ingesting of certain treatment drugs,
but personally I have seen these in patients that have received no
treatment whatsoever.
