| Chemical
burn (due to medication)
Chemical
burns result in tissue necrosis produced by a chemical
agent used by the practitioner or the patient to
relieve pain.
The lesion takes the aspect of a whitish
plaque which can be removed, leaving an erosive,
painful surface.
Its whitish aspect of recent appearance,
the relative facility with which it scrapes off
and the confirmation of use of the caustic agent
determine the diagnosis.
