inflammatory zone, slightly elevated.
The background is a greyish white color due to
superficial tissue necrosis.
It has an elastic consistency, rubbery and edematous.
They are painful, especially when they present
in the tongue, and are always related to dental or prosthetic
traumatisms. As
a mechanical or physical lesion of the oral mucosa they
acquire great importance not only due to their elevated
frequency of occurence, but also because statistically,
when they do not cure or receed, they enter in the group
of lesions which are statistically precancerous.
