Common
wart |
|
Filiform wart: It appears
exceptionally in the oral mucosa as a sole lesion with some longish
projections, hyperkeratotic and of fast growth.
Common wart: More common in the oral mucosa, but may also appear
on the labial semimucosa.
Initially it appears as a sole lesion, but posteriorly new
lesions develop nearby, which sometimes coalesce;
the contact of lesions with opposing surfaces is a common
way of dissemination. They are relatively soft, non-pedunculated growths, with a
keratinized, rough, rugged, whitish surface which appear and develop
rapidly. The other
wart variety is the “condyloma acuminatum” or venereal wart.
